8 months in the Kingdom!

And another month under the belt! Crazy to think it has actually been 8 months. Even more crazy that some of my high school buddies will be hitting their year mark very soon. I know I say probably every post, but time is flying haha!
We are having transfers this Sunday! So we will see if we are going to move or if we are going to stay and make it 8 months in Kolomotu'a, Haha. I have a feeling I'm going to move. But we will see!
Also, the Prophet is coming to Tonga! This week we have the opportunity to listen to President Russel M Nelson! They only had a couple of tickets for every ward. We were able to get some!so this Thursday is when he will be here! I am so excited!!
This past week has been fun. Very similar to last week. We are trying to get our members more involved with the missionary work. Chances are my comp and I will move, and so we are trying to revive the work for the next missionaries. This past week we visited members and have been asking them to find people for us to work with! Also been working a lot with the inactives. The work is never done in an area, just a little slow sometimes! Haha! I absolutely love this area. The families are so nice! It's going to be sad when I leave this area! My comp and I were talking and we got so depressed when we realized this is probably our last week together...I don’t even know how to act around a new comp!
Thank you for all the prayers and emails! Happy Fathers day from Tonga! Yeah, Fathers Day was this past Sunday. A little weird! Hahaha.
I love you all!

District
Sanft family...they are the ones that live to tease me!
Cow's leg...was really soft
Look at how my comp is holding it hahaha
Puppies! The brown was was huge compared to the rest if the litter.
Thank goodness for kind people who bring us food when we are not getting fafagas
See that huge spider in the corner of our bathroom?

This was how I had to shower with no lights but my book reader and a bucket. Tongan workers came to fix a power line that was sparking because to was in a tree. He ended up cutting the electrical wire right in half. He didnt know what to do...so left a live electrical line exposed in our tree hahaha...good times!

This week has flew by! I could’ve sworn I was emailing yesterday hahaha. But what’s new? Haha. Just another week in good ol’ Kolomotu’a. Being in an area for 6 months, everything just starts to mesh together. Especially when your with the same comp...hahaha. There is so many times when me or my comp will be telling a story and we have to just say, you already told me or finish the story for him, LOL! You learn so much about someone when you LITERALLY don’t leave their side for 6 months hahaha. We played a game in district meeting. It was a game to see who knows their companion best...can you guess who won? Anderson is probably one of my best friends now...lol.
This week has been pretty cool. YOu know the usual. Our members don’t help with the work, so we have to door knock. That is also hard when you have knocked on every single door. But our Bishop has made a new program, so every Monday we have a big family home evening and the families are encouraged to bring investigators. So we will see. Last week we had 5 families come, but no one brought friends. So today we will see if someone brings anyone...fingers crossed! Our Bishop told us we have 2 people that want are interested but they vanished. We don’t know what happened! Luckily our area is full of cool members, so we get really close with them and try to serve them in any way possible! I am doing great and loving life and Tonga!
Also, Happy Mother’s Day! Wanna wish my beautiful Mom a Happy Mother’s Day. I can honestly say I would not be out here if it wasn’t for her. Also want to thank her for everything. Want to wish all my other “moms”, my aunties and both my Grandmas, a happy Mother’s Day! Lastly, my comp’s mom, Suni! Thank you for all you do for me. Could not have done it without you guys. I love you all! Thank you for all the prayers and emails. Till next week!

Loving it here

Malo e lelei Family and Friends,
I cannot believe its May! I could've sworn I was just writing about the new year! I am absolutely loving my mission!

I am still working on my Tongan, haha.. This week was a good week. We started teaching this guy named Ase. I knew him in Vava'u. He always came on P-day and played volleyball with us. I didn't know he wasn't a member. We ran into him and asked if we could teach him and he said yes! So we taught him and I've never met anyone who remembers what we teach to the T! He was always so into the lessons, loved asking and answering question! We committed him to baptism, but sadly he left to Eua :(  He comes back in June, so hopefully future missionaries find him. We also found a couple from Australia. The is born into the church but his wife is Muslim. First one I've met here in Tonga. Such a nice couple with genuine hearts. He wants his wife to learn about the church, so we will see what happens with her!

Funny experiences that happened:
-A minister asked us why we believe in 3 Gods and we gave answers from the Bible and he was furious because he didn't expect that and didn't know what to do, lol.
-Families roast me SO MUCH! Apparently I'm just very "roastable" (is that a word?) Tongans are ruthless haha.
-I was trying to teach a kid how to land a front-flip on the tramp and, long story short, I thought the kid broke his neck. But Tongan children don't feel pain...like I'm serious. It freaks me out, when you see them having rock wars, but they are throwing 5 lb boulders and laughing when it hits them. You know there is no such thing as pain out here. hahaha.

Also, not funny, but my companion got offered by BYU to play football! So that was pretty crazy!

To finish on a spiritual thought, we are doing a 90 day Book of Mormon reading challenge and I can see the blessings it gives me and my companion. So I encourage all of you to start reading the Book of Mormon. Whether your first time, or you've lost count, just read it daily. You will see the blessings! I promise!

Thank you for all you emails and prayers.
